Frequently Asked Questions

What is hazing?
Hazing is the process in which you disturb the animals sense of security, causing it to avoid your property. This can be done using flashing lights, fladry, noisemakers, dogs, rubber bullets, or a variety of other methods.
Why dogs?
Dogs are a very effective method to haze wildlife. Wildlife can become accustomed to fladry, noisemakers, and lights, causing them to lose effectiveness. The dogs allow for us to locate and haze wildlife away from your property by mimicking natural relationships between wild animals. Here is a study on the effects of hazing mountain lions with dogs.
Do you use any other methods?
We utilize a variety of methods to assist in your nuisance wildlife problems. While hazing can be an excellent tool, we understand that removal of certain species may be whats necessary to ensure human and livestock safety on your property.
What does all this cost?
I do not charge for any hazing/removal services within Plateau Valley. I do this because I love working and developing my dogs. Gratuity is appreciated, but not required. I will charge a travel fee for locations outside of the valley to cover gas and vehicle maintenance.
Do you train other people’s dogs?
I will take a limited number of outside dogs for training. I do charge for this service and I am very picky about the dogs and owners I decide to work with. If you are interested in training, please reach out to describe the dog (age, breed, hunting experience, etc.) and style of hunting you do.
Your dogs are so cute! Do you sell any puppies?
The short answer is no, I do not sell puppies. The longer answer is that I breed only for myself, not to sell puppies. Occasionally, when I need puppies due to some of my current dogs reaching retirement age, I will have a litter. At that time, I will keep several puppies for myself and let a small number go to serious working, sporting, or hunting homes only.
